Hero Wars is a game of resource management disguised as an RPG. The number one mistake new players make is trying to level up every hero they unlock. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explain exactly what you need to focus on during your first three months of playing.
You only need 5 heroes for the Arena, the Campaign, and most of the Tower. Your resources (Gold, EXP potions, Runes, and Sparks of Power) are severely limited. If you spread them across 15 different heroes, you will end up with a weak roster that gets crushed by focused teams.
Pick one tank, one healer, one main damage dealer (DPS), and two support heroes. Pour 90% of your resources into your Tank and your DPS. Your healer and supports only need enough health to survive area-of-effect (AoE) damage.
Emeralds are the premium currency in Hero Wars. Do not spend them on opening heroic chests unless there is a specific 55% discount event. The absolute best way to spend Emeralds is on Energy. Buying the 50-emerald energy refills every day allows you to farm more gear, get more player experience, and level up faster than your peers.
You cannot play this game solo. The moment you reach level 30, you need to find an active guild in the Silver or Gold league. Why? Because of Titan spheres and Guild War trophies. These resources are locked behind guild activity.
The Tower is the most important daily activity for your economy. It provides millions of gold. The trick to the Tower is that enemy levels scale with your Player Level, not your Hero Level. If your Player Level is 60, but your top 5 heroes are only level 45 because you didn't have enough EXP potions, the Tower will be impossible to clear.
Always keep your top 5 heroes exactly equal to your Player Level. If you can't afford to level them, stop claiming daily quests that give Player EXP until you catch up.
